About the Event

Rebecca Thornes is a soprano from County Meath, Ireland. In 2024 she graduated with a firstclass honours from the Bachelor of Music (Pedagogy) from TU Dublin Conservatoire. She is continuing her studies with Orla Boylan at TU Dublin Conservatoire. Rebecca is passionate about the art song genre and dedicates a lot of time to the form.

Rebecca has showcased her talents in solo and ensemble contexts in esteemed venues throughout Ireland, including the National Concert Hall, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Mel’s Cathedral, Dalgan Park, Whitefriar Street Church, as well as at TU Dublin Conservatoire. Rebecca regularly performs as a duo with Aodhamair Reilly.

Her competitive experience includes Feis Ceoil, Navan Choral Festival, Kilcoole Music Festival, Newpark Festival of Music, and TU Dublin vocal competitions. In May 2025, she achieved first place in the Navan Choral Festival's under-30s vocal competition, judged by Richard Yarr MBE. She also won first place in the Dermot Troy Memorial Cup Competition at the TU Dublin vocal competitions, adjudicated by acclaimed Scottish baritone Donald Maxwell in 2024. Furthermore, Rebecca has received first-class honours and commendations at the Navan Choral Festival, Kilcoole Music Festival, and Interschools Music Festival, recognized by adjudicators Imelda Drumm, Sylvia Regan, and Colman Pearce.



Aodhamair Reilly is a pianist and harpist (Irish and concert) hailing from Navan in Co. Meath. She completed her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from TU Dublin in 2023 and also holds an Associate Diploma in Irish Harp Teaching from the Royal Irish Academy of Music (2025). Since then, she has enjoyed performing as a solo artist, accompanist and in orchestral settings. As a soloist, Aodhamair has performed at the Boyle Arts festival (2023), as a support artist for Éire Guitar Duo (2025) as well as at numerous wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions. She regularly works alongside singers Deirdre Shannon (formerly of Celtic Woman) and Rebecca Thornes, who she became friendly with during college. As an orchestral musician, Aodhamair has performed with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland in Carnegie Hall on St. Patrick’s Day 2023, with UCD Symphony Orchestra in the National Concert Hall, and as a keyboard play for St. Mary’s Musical Society’s production of ‘Evita’. Currently, Aodhamair is the resident accompanist for the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland and the Navan Male Voice Choir, while also accompanying instrumentalists and singers through their grade exams. She is also the accompanist and Assistant Choir Director with the Loving Life Choir, based in Drogheda, Co. Louth. Aodhamair is an enthusiastic piano and harp teacher based in both Navan and Dublin. She enjoys sharing her love of music with her students through various styles - classical, pop, traditional, etc - and guides them encouragingly through exams. Other achievements of hers include placing first in the Corn Uí Chearbhalláin competition for Irish harp in the Feis Ceoil in 2024 as well as winning a Spotlight Award from the Royal Irish Academy of Music for the piece ‘New Blues’ by Deborah Henson-Conant.
