Mia Byrne is a composer, saxophonist and flautist whose music brings together jazz, contemporary, classical and folk traditions. Having recently completed her studies in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance, Mia draws on the music she grew up playing, blending her classical and folk roots with contemporary improvisation to create compositions that are distinctive, evocative and memorable.

On 17 September, Mia will be joined by her band at St. Ann’s for a special performance of a brand-new set of compositions, performed live for the very first time. Expect a recital of fresh sounds, improvisation and music that bridges tradition and contemporary expression.
