Jisun Min (violin)
A South Korean violinist of exceptional versatility and expressive depth, Jisun Min is a multiple award-winning performer, chamber music and orchestral leader. A graduate of the Korean National University of Arts (KNUA, K’ARTS) and the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM).
She was appointed as a concertmaster at a young age. She expanded her experience on large stages, performed complete symphonies of classical repertoire. She contributed to recording for Korean traditional music, film music, opera, jazz, classical tango and K-pop songs, she also recorded in commercial advertisement for Samsung. Nominated Rising Star by Hyundai in Korea.
In 2019, she decided to study abroad in Dublin. She completed a Recital Artist Diploma with Distinction, received bursaries every year. Professional mentorship included serious chamber music studies in the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) in Dublin Ireland.
She also appeared as leader of the RIAM Philharmonia for five years, appeared as leader for two operas, two orchestral works which were Irish Premieres. Particularly while studying at the RIAM, Jisun had the honour to be nominated a Rising star twice. First, Limerick Rising star on the RTÉ Lyric FM, then the Rising Star Recital of the 2024 West Wicklow Festival where she premiered new Irish composition ‘Skim’ by T. Doyle, comissioned by the Contemporary Music Centre Ireland.
Jisun had an opportunity at the NCH International masterclass project with Maxim Vengerov.
Recent performances include Music for Galway, Tullamore Gramophone Society, Music in Calary Wicklow, Wexford ChamberFest, Dublin Stanford Festival,The Castleknock Music Festival, Summer Project of King’s College London. She was the leader of the Phillipsburg Orchestra in Germany, the Malta Spring Festival 2025.
She was the winner of the Dublin ChamberFest for four years running. She was awarded the Colin Staveley Memorial Medal at Maura Dowdall Competition in Ireland. World String Magazine Strad 1st prize in Korea, International Beethoven Chamber Competition finalist prize in the Krzysztof Pendereczki Centre in Poland.
She has been a member of the NSOI, INO, RTÉCO, Wexford Festival Opera and Ulster Orchestra, and she keeps seeking new stages to play on, in Korea, Ireland and abroad, also regularly scheduled upcoming chamber music and solo recitals.
During the past six years, she has greatly expanded her Chamber, solo, and demanding orchestra repertoire to be able to fit high profile position in Ireland.
She is one of the artists supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ireland.
She plays on fine historical instruments, including a J.B.D. Salomon c.1750 violin.
Adam Collins (piano)
began his music education with Mullingar Town Band, learning clarinet, bassoon, trumpet and music arrangement at a young age. He studied piano, organ and clarinet at Schola Cantorum, St Finian’s College before enrolling at the Royal Irish Academy of Music to study piano with Hugh Tinney and Peter Tuite, and harpsichord with David Adams. He held the position of organ scholar at St Mary’s Pro Cathedral, Dublin from 2013-2014, studying organ with Gerard Gillen and working with the Palestrina Choir. In 2018-2019 he studied fortepiano in the Hague with Bart van Oort, Petra Somlai and Richard Egarr.
With a diverse background, Adam has been heavily involved in a wide variety of musical activities in Ireland, ranging from choral accompaniment, chamber music, liturgical music, early music, contemporary music and composition. He has studied composition with Kevin O’Connell and Jonathan Nangle and has premiered numerous works by Irish composers. He performed with the contemporary music ensemble Kirkos in the Irish Composer’s Collective 20th Anniversary concert.
He has appeared in recitals at St Ann’s Church, Music for Wexford, Castleknock Music Festival, Tullamore International Organ Series and RIAM’s Chamber Music Festival. In 2023 he won the Fidelio Perpetual Cup in the Lucien and Maura Tessier Piano Competition and in 2024 reached the final of the Maura Dowdall Concerto Competition. He played in the preliminary round of the Dublin International Piano Competition and was twice awarded the Chamber Music Festival’s overall highest grades in RIAM and was selected to preform live on RTÉ Lyric FM as part of RIAM’s Europe Day Gala Concert in 2024.
He was the principal continuo player for Fishamble Sinfonia, involved in reviving music heard in Ireland in the eighteenth century and has performed on harpsichord with distinguished performers such as Darragh Morgan and David Brophy.
Adam is an accomplished vocal accompanist and has experience of repetiteur work with Irish Youth Opera, Castilia Opera and RIAM Opera. He has collaborated with renowned singers such as Claudia Boyle, Ailish Tynan and Celine Byrne and has taken coaching from Ian Burnside and the late Veronica Dunne.
Adam holds a first class honours degree in piano from RIAM, where he currently teaches piano classes for Adult Division. He is a committed educator with over a decade of teaching experience and is dedicated to nurturing appreciation of music in his students.
As a pianist, Adam takes inspiration from the performance practices of the past and has a passion for exploring unusual repertoire and playing techniques based on historical principles.
