Originally from Tasmania, Australia, Claire Angel Bonner is a 19th century guitar specialist currently based in Italy. A truly international artist, she is active as both soloist and chamber musician.

Claire's engagements for 2026 include solo concerts in London and Edinburgh: in July she will perform in France; and in October-November she will undertake an extensive Australian tour of concerts (including the premiere of a new project combining original poetry and 19th century music), masterclasses, and presentations on the 19th century guitar.

In 2023 Claire's solo engagements took her to Switzerland, France, Italy, the Faroe Islands, the UK (London, Leeds, and Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Society of Musicians), and Australia where she performed for the Sydney Bach Society, Mona Museum, Hans Vonk Music House, the University of Western Australia, and in public and private recitals in Tasmania, Adelaide, and Perth. Her 2024 engagements included chamber music concerts in France; the premiere of an original poetry and music project at the ArtsBasementProject in Leeds; she also performed solo concerts for St Bride's Church in London, and the Italian Baroque festival ‘Gli Speziali’.

Other performances in Australia have included engagements at the Ellington Jazz Club in Perth, WA Guitar Society, WA Dante Alighieri Society, Adelaide’s Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre; Perth Concert Hall, and radio and TV appearances. In Italy she has performed at the Festa Farnese (Parma), Piacenza Guitar Festival, I Mandolinisti Bustesi, Gallerie d'Italia, State Archives of Milan, Reggia di Caserta, and Milan’s Castello Sforzesco. She was an ensemble prizewinner in the 12th Concorso chitarristico "Città di Voghera". She regularly performs in France, where she gave two solo recital series in 2022 and 2023.

Claire moved to Milan in 2012 to study with leading 19th century guitar specialists Maestri Paolo Pugliese and Claudio Maccari at the prestigious Scuola Civica di Musica Claudio Abbado di Milano, where she graduated in 2016. In 2011 she received her Bachelor of Music from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
