Aoise O’Dwyer is a violist from Co. Offaly. She enjoys a varied career encompassing solo, duet, chamber, symphony and opera orchestral playing, and has worked extensively with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Irish National Opera Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra. She has a special interest in researching and performing music by women composers, securing Arts Council Agility Award funding in 2023 and support from Offaly Arts Office in 2024 for her solo recital project “Women Composers and the Viola”, which debuted last November at Esker Arts Centre, Tullamore, followed by Pop-Up Recitals at Edenderry and Tullamore Libraries on International Women's Day in March. She looks forward to recording a selection of works from this project later this summer, and presenting a new programme as part of Culture Night in September.
Aoise holds a BMus in Performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and an MA in Performance from the MTU Cork School of Music.
